I understand that if I were investing, it would be easier to just buy an exchange traded gold fund, but I’m looking for actual bars. Where can they be bought? Are online dealers my only option?

Wow, there’s a lot of really dumb answers here. Meflaps, I’m looking mostly at you. Gold comes in very different sized bars, from 1000oz all the way down to 1/20oz. Anyone with thirty bucks can buy a teeny tiny gold bar. If you’re only buying one or just a few bars, I second the notion to buy on ebay. Just use common sense and buy from people with 1000+ feedback.
